A monolithic coastal residence framed by basalt stone, cantilevered timber decks, and native coastal flora.
Situated on a rugged cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea in North Goa, The Raw Stone Pavilion explores the dialogue between brutalist massing and tropical lightness. The structure utilizes locally quarried Laterite and basalt stone to ground the residence, while deep cantilevered teak brise-soleil screen the intense tropical sunlight.
The ground level is designed as a continuous flowing volume—dissolving the threshold between internal living spaces and the surrounding coconut grove. Rainwater harvesting channels are integrated sculpturally into the stone courtyards, creating reflective water bodies that naturally cool the lower floor through convective airflow.
